TankSafe® designs and supplies fuel-security products intended to help protect diesel fuel tanks against specific methods of unauthorised fuel access, including siphoning, skimming and draining.
This disclaimer should be read together with any product specifications, installation instructions, warranty information, quotations and other terms supplied in relation to a particular TankSafe® product.
1. Product Information
We take reasonable care to ensure that the product descriptions, specifications, features, images and other information published on the TankSafe® website are accurate and current.
Product information is provided for general informational purposes and to assist customers in identifying potentially suitable fuel-security solutions.
TankSafe® may update product designs, specifications, materials, features or other product information as products are developed and improved. Customers should therefore confirm the applicable product specifications and compatibility before purchasing or installing a product where these factors are material to their requirements.
2. TankSafe® Fuel-Security Products
The TankSafe® product range includes fuel-security solutions designed to address different points of unauthorised access to a vehicle or equipment fuel tank.
These currently include:
TankSafe® Optimum
TankSafe® Optimum is an anti-siphon device designed to protect the tank neck against fuel siphoning and skimming while allowing fuel to enter the tank during normal refuelling.
TankSafe® Shield
TankSafe® Shield is an anti-siphon solution designed to restrict access to fuel through the tank neck and reduce the amount of fuel exposed to potential skimming.
SenderSafe®
SenderSafe® is designed to protect the fuel sender and help prevent its unauthorised removal.
DrainSafe®
DrainSafe® is designed to help prevent unauthorised draining of diesel through the fuel tank drain.
Each product performs a specific function. Customers should select the appropriate product or combination of products according to the vehicle, equipment, fuel tank and areas requiring protection.
3. Product Selection and Compatibility
Not every TankSafe® product is suitable for every vehicle, fuel tank or application.
Vehicle models, tank sizes, tank-neck configurations, fuel-system designs and operating requirements can differ significantly.
Customers should confirm product compatibility before purchase or installation by consulting the relevant TankSafe® specification guide or contacting TankSafe® directly.
Recommendations made by TankSafe® are based on the information available to us at the time. Where incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect vehicle or tank information is supplied, TankSafe® cannot guarantee that the recommended product will be suitable for the intended application.
4. Installation and Fitment
Correct installation is important to the safe and effective operation of TankSafe® products.
Products should be installed in accordance with the applicable TankSafe® fitment instructions and any relevant vehicle, equipment or fuel-system requirements.
Incorrect installation, forced installation, unauthorised modification or installation on an incompatible tank or vehicle may affect the product’s operation, performance or durability.
Where there is uncertainty regarding installation or compatibility, customers should contact TankSafe® before proceeding.
5. Fuel-Theft Protection
TankSafe® products are designed to address specific methods of fuel theft and unauthorised access.
References on the TankSafe® website or in TankSafe® product material to protection against fuel siphonage, fuel skimming, unauthorised draining or other forms of fuel access relate to the specific function and intended use of the relevant product.
Where a TankSafe® product is described as providing 100% protection from fuel siphonage or fuel skimming, this refers to the specific protection provided by that product against those stated methods when the correct product is properly selected, fitted and used for its intended purpose.
Such statements should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a vehicle, fuel tank or fuel supply is protected against every possible form of theft, deliberate attack, vandalism, physical damage, tank puncture, component removal, unauthorised modification, bypass method or other means of accessing fuel outside the intended protective function of the product.
Fuel-security measures are most effective when the appropriate products and operational controls are used together.
6. Tampering, Modification and Misuse
TankSafe® products are intended to be used for their specified purpose.
The effectiveness, safety or lifespan of a product may be affected by:
- Incorrect installation or fitment;
- Use on an incompatible vehicle or fuel tank;
- Deliberate tampering or attempted forced removal;
- Physical damage;
- Modification of the product;
- Modification of the vehicle or fuel system;
- Use outside the intended application;
- Failure to follow applicable instructions or specifications; or
- Abnormal operating conditions.
TankSafe® cannot guarantee product performance where a product has been altered, damaged, incorrectly installed or used outside its intended application.
7. Product Performance
Product performance may depend on the product selected, vehicle and tank configuration, installation, operating conditions and manner of use.
Technical information such as filling rates, dimensions, materials and product features should be read in conjunction with the applicable product specification.
Published performance information is intended to describe the capabilities of the relevant TankSafe® product and should not be interpreted as guaranteeing identical results in every vehicle, tank configuration or operating environment.
8. Warranty
Certain TankSafe® products are supplied with a stated product warranty. For example, TankSafe® Optimum and TankSafe® Shield are currently advertised with a 3-year warranty.
Any warranty applies subject to the warranty terms and conditions applicable to the particular product.
Customers should retain proof of purchase and any relevant installation or product information that may be required when submitting a warranty enquiry.

Nothing in this Product Disclaimer is intended to remove, restrict or replace any statutory warranty or consumer right that applies under South African law.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, those products and services are supplied and operated by the relevant third party and may be subject to that provider’s own terms, conditions, warranties and privacy practices.
TankSafe® is not responsible for the operation, availability or performance of an independent third-party product or service except to the extent required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing.

Images, photographs, illustrations, diagrams and other visual representations appearing on the TankSafe® website are intended to assist customers in understanding our products and their applications.
Actual products, installations or vehicle configurations may differ from those shown.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TankSafe® will not be responsible for losses arising solely from:
- Incorrect product selection based on inaccurate information supplied to TankSafe®;
- Incorrect or unauthorised installation;
- Product modification or misuse;
- Deliberate damage or tampering;
- Use of a product outside its intended application; or
- A method of fuel theft or unauthorised access falling outside the intended protective function of the relevant product.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable South African law.
12. Consumer Rights
This Product Disclaimer does not override any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation.
Where legislation provides a customer with rights that cannot legally be waived, restricted or excluded, those rights will continue to apply.
13. Changes to Products and Product Information
TankSafe® may amend product specifications, product ranges, technical information and this Product Disclaimer from time to time.
